LED Headlights

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) are semiconductor light sources that emit light when current flows through. The series of diodes produce more light at lower temperatures. Stable temperatures keep the required output of the headlight and ensures a long life span. LED bulbs produce light efficiently without emitting heat unlike high-intensity discharge (HID) or halogen bulbs. This allows more energy to directly generate light.

All headlamps must have both high and low beams. This is accomplished through a single beam bulb or a dual beam bulb. A single beam headlamp has two bulbs per headlight. A dual beam headlamp has one bulb per headlight. The two styles are not interchangeable and will need to be replaced accordingly. Led headlights are available in both styles.

There are many advantages to LED headlights. The most noticed advantage is that they’re bright. Nevertheless, they are energy efficient and hold a longer life span. The most noticeable disadvantage of LED headlights is they cost more. When purchasing new headlights or exchanging for LED headlights, ensure that they're the correct headlights for the model of the vehicle. Also, ensure the headlights are safe, permitted by law and are DOT-compliant.
